Superior CO Real Estate
The town of Superior got its start as a coal mining hub in the late 1800's, and was incorporated in 1904. Its history, like many other Colorado towns, was linked to active coal mining, so much so that the town was named for the "superior" availability of the coal in the area.

Superior CO Homes
Today, Superior is a vibrant housing-focused community with approximately 12,000 residents, mostly in the newer Rock Creek Ranch subdivision. Additionally, many retail and business offerings are in the area. Ideally, it's located just six miles from Boulder, and 18 miles from Denver off Highway 36.
Superior real estate is diverse enough to satisfy most home buyers. Multi-family starter homes in nice neighborhoods are available for under $150,000. There is a good selection of single family homes in the high $200's to $300's for the young family. There are also a good selection of 4 plus bedroom homes for those desiring more space with Superior home prices extending over $1 million.
In 2008, the Superior Town Board, thinking of the future, created a vision and plan to make Superior an energy self-sufficient community within ten years with renewable energy projects.
Superior Recreation
With over 27 miles of trails, and 594 acres of parks, open and green spaces, Superior is a wonderful place to enjoy the outdoors and Colorado's sunny days. Community Park hosts a 4th of July Race and Fest, and a Fall Chili Fest. Town 9 Park in original Old Town hosts an annual Arbor Day Celebration, as well as Superior Days (old-fashioned home town fun). Other highlights in or near Superior are the library, Coal Creek Golf Course, the Butterfly Pavilion, and the Broomfield Events Center.
